Welcome to my blog :)

A little about me

My name is Jennifer Pham. I usually go by Jenny :)

I am from Lutz, Florida, which is about a 30-minute drive to USF Tampa campus. I am a third-year Health Sciences major with a dual concentration in Biological Health Sciences and Health Information Technology.

My first fun fact about myself would be that I am the Vice President External of the Vietnamese Student Association at USF. As VPE, I plan a lot of the bigger shows/banquets for students, such as the our Lunar New Year one coming up on Sunday, January 29th in the MSC Ballroom (free and open to everyone). I am usually the main contact when it comes to collaborating with other student organizations and come up with itineraries and manage performances for VSA events!

My second fun fact about me is that I love to fan dance. My group and I dance to Vietnamese pop songs, so it is a nice cultural dance with a hint of modern. It keeps me active and allows me to relax and destress after a long day at work or school.

Another fun fact is that I have my driver's license but I don't drive. For one thing, I am not very confident on the road. And in addition to that, I don't own a car either. So usually I get dropped off and picked up by my parents or I carpool with my friends.

I currently work two jobs. I work at the USF Tampa bookstore in the textbooks department. I usually deal with troubleshooting any issues, and helping customers get the books they need as well as ship and receive books from other stores and publishers. My other job is being an office receptionist for a music school close to my home. I deal with billing, paychecks, scheduling and customer service!

My favorite social media platform would be TikTok. I love scrolling through videos before I go to bed. Some videos are super helpful, funny, or relaxing. I like how these videos are short, which keeps the audiences' attention.

Blogging

This is actually my second time creating a blog. My first time I created a blog was over the summer for my EME2040 technology for Leading and Learning class. I enjoyed blogging, however, I do not use the blog anymore nor do I add any blogs. Here is the link to the blog if you want to check it out

I do not often read blogs, but from the experience that I have had with creating blogs over the summer, I would say it is fun and brings out the creative side in me, however, it does take a lot of patience. Getting used to the website or program and learning how to navigate and edit certain things take time and effort.

I like blogs since it is an outlet people can share their thoughts and ideas to the world. It is similar to some apps like Twitter, however, to me, blogging is a little more like journaling. I like how everything is organized into one website with each blog labeled to make it easier as well.

  1. I'm happy to have you in class this semester Jenny! Where in Vietnam is your family from? I was in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) just before Covid. I really love Vietnam. As and undergrad and grad student I had a lot of Vietnamese friends because I worked in the Southeast Asia Department of the library. I could go on but I'm sure I'm already being boring.
